The Tournament
The Kids Play 4 Kids™ Charity Hockey Tournament, held in Calgary on the weekend of March 14-17, 2013, will be hosted by a trio partnership of the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation, Edge School Foundation and Hockey Calgary.
This inspiring 4-on-4 Charity Hockey Tournament invites 110 teams of young hockey players across Timbit and Novice divisions to play in the tournament. All teams will play fun, non-contact, full-ice, games of hockey with two-25 minute periods in a round robin format. Throughout the weekend, Timbits will play three games while Novice will play four. Over 2,200 children will play 250 games in 10 different ice surfaces throughout the city of Calgary. Tournament registration is open to full teams who are registered with local minor hockey associations.
The overall focus of the tournament is to promote awareness and excellence in health, education and sport while caring for others through the passion of hockey.
The purpose of the tournament is to inspire children with character building and leadership opportunities to empower them to understand the importance of families, strength of communities, and the ultimate gift of giving back to less fortunate “kids”.
Proceeds from this event will be shared by Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation, Edge School Foundation and Hockey Calgary.
